Professional info

I am a Graphic Designer, making and creating my own path, and helping others to do the same. I use all my experience and put my creative juices into everything I do. Doing odd jobs every now and then, and help to create something from scratch. The sky is the limit! Anytime I'm away from my mac, I spend it outside enjoying the fantastic outdoors we are so blessed to have here, in Cape Town.

Work experience

I was handed the reigns of Rolling Stone Magazine, just before our 1 year anniversary, becoming their Art Director. I eagerly took the chance to make a difference and finally leave my mark on this iconic magazine. Tasks then required me to 'take control' over all things for the company, and to maintain our magazines high standard of quality, that our readers had come to expect. We have many titles under the group; Rolling Stone Magazine South African Edition (monthly), One Music City Newspaper (fortnightly).

Graphic Designer @ 3i Publishing

2009 - 2012

In 2009 I was given the opportunity to work for 3i Publishing, joining as a junior designer, mainly assisting with the monthly magazine, Africa Telecoms. From June 2010, I was the only designer taking control of this mag. In early 2011 we decided to pitch for the licence to Rolling Stone, and the rest is history. Being such a small team at 3i Publishing, we learnt to tackle anything in our path.

A Diploma in Graphic and Web Design. Covering all aspects of multi-media design.

Education

After a brief stint freelancing, I was thrown into the deep-end at this position. Starting near the end of the year, when all publications are in melt-down mode, having to get everything done before everyone closes for the December break. We currently have 3 titles under the group; SA4x4 magazine, Caravan & Outdoor Life Magazine and Leisure Boating. Along with an annual Great Outdoors Guide and numerous "special" inserts, we also are involved with our various clients, in creating their adverts, to be placed in the magazines.
